Our XM Fees and Spreads Revealed:
Fees and Spreads
The spread list that XM offers starts from 0.6 pips on EUR/USD.
XM offers competitive and tight spreads on the trading accounts that are offered to retail traders. The typical spread list that traders can expect when they trade with XM will depend on the financial instrument being traded, the retail account that is being used, and the market conditions when traders carry out trading activities. The spreads that traders can expect include:
- Micro Account – variable spreads from 1 pip EUR/USD
- Standard Account – variable spreads from 1 pip EUR/USD
- XM Ultra-Low Account – variable spreads from 0.6 pips EUR/USD
- Share Account – according to the underlying exchange and the individual share
XM offers commission-free trading on most of its retail accounts except the Shares Account which has commissions that range from $1 to $9 according to the underlying stock exchange being traded as well as the individual share.
Additional Trading Fees
Overnight fees, also known as swap fees or rollovers, are either credited or debited depending on the financial instrument being held and whether the trader is holding a long or short position. XM charges swap fees on its retail trading accounts unless traders have converted their trading account to that of an Islamic Account.
On the Islamic Account, traders are not subject to earning or paying swap fees, making it the ideal account for Muslim traders who follow Sharia law that prohibits such interest.
XM is not a spread betting broker which means that spread betting fees will not apply.
Broker Fees
XM does not charge any deposit fees or withdrawal fees on any of the payment methods that are offered. However, XM charges inactivity fees on dormant trading accounts. This fee is deducted from the account balance until it reaches zero and the account is subsequently closed when this happens.
There are no other broker fees indicated for XM, but traders must note that conditions can vary and change. Traders are therefore urged to verify the existence of any additional fees before they register a live trading account with XM.
